Provision of industrial safety of production companies

In JSC "Generation Company" the Federal Law "Оn Industrial safety of hazardous production objects" is executed guided by the "Regulations for production control over meeting the requirements of industrial safety in the hazardous production objects of JSC "Generation Company". The document covers each division of the company.

In accordance with " Regulations…" in 2007 the department of production control and accident prevention checked condition of production safety of each branch of JSC "Generation Company" to the aim of location of faults and development of measures for enhancing reliable operation of dangerous production sites.

The focus is made on organization of production control, training and certification of personnel, technical and operation documentation. Worn out equipment subject to inspection for industrial safety, accidents are detected on dangerous production locations.

Technological violations, accounted in JSC "Generation Company" branches in 2007:

There were no accidents reported. In 2007 the technological violations decreased by 10.7% compared to 2006. The technological violations both on thermal and electrical equipment decreased by 32% and 3% respectively.

The technological violations in operation of equipment with regard to elements of damageability:

For further reduction of number of technological violations in operation of the branches the Company set up the next dimensions:

• Analysis and implementation of actions for enhancing the dependability of electrical and thermal schemes of own needs during equipment repair or bringing in reserve.
• Timely diagnostics of equipment (inspection of production safety), as well as design inspection.
• Improving the quality of operators and attending personnel training.
• Timely detection and removal of defect.
• Maintaining the norms of turbine oil quality.
• Keeping the schedules for equipment start-up-shutdowns.
• Utilization of the new techniques of equipment preservation, especially during bringing into continuous reserve.
• Timely replacement of impulse and drainage pipes during repairs.
• Quality acceptance of equipment from repair.

Fire safety

The results of competition for the best fire-proof condition of JSC "Generation Company" branches were summoned.

In its organization actively participated each branch of the Company. The most active and organized was done the job at Nizhnekamsk CHP, that ranked 1, Naberezhnye Chelny CHP ranked 2 and Kazan CHP-1 ranked 3. On base of results of competition fro best anti-fire condition in the branches in 2004-2006 the people of Nizhnekamsk were the winners. Good stability and persistence in goal reaching.

The actions aimed at bringing the branches objects to appropriate anti-fire condition allowed to reach the positive end result: in 2007 - at the plants of the power system nor fires were reported.

Labor protection

For further improving the labor protection and reduction of production traumatism, health preservation and workability of personnel, enhancing the culture of production in 2007 the JSC "Generation Company" underwent under the motto "The Year of Labor Protection and Accident Prevention".

The tasks and objectives:

• further utilization of improved means of individual protection of personnel;
• provision of safe condition of equipment;
• enhancing the efficiency of holding the "Days of Labor Protection", which basic goal is the detection of violations of laws and norms for labor protection and provision of timely actions for their removal;
• control over condition of labor protection including the unexpected checkups of the work stations, selector meetings on issues of labor protection, working out with personnel of the circumstances of the accidents happened in JSC "Generation Company";
• maximal utilization of expertise of previous experience in the area of traumatism reduction;
• practice of intolerant attitude to any violations of requirements of labor protection.

Personnel in the branches is equipped with a uniform, special foot ware, and other individual protection means according to the norms. Electro- technical personnel of most of the branches is equipped with certified outfit of uniform of thermo-proof tissue Nomex from protection from electrical arc. Despite high price management of the Company find it beneficial to equip electro-technical personnel with such uniforms according tom the applicable norms.

At each branch the cabinets for labor protection are furnished with posters, computerized dummies for teaching the techniques of first aid. The Company personnel is insured against the accidents and pass physicals on annual basis.

The results of annual competition were summoned "For Best Organization of Labor Protection Work in Branches of JSC "Generation Company", held in 2007. Prizes were awarded to:
1 place - Nizhnekamsk CHP
2 place - Kazan CHP-1
3 place - Kazan CHP-2

The winners were awarded the money prizes and memorial Diplomas.
