Reconstruction of boiler #7 at Kazan CHPP -2

Boiler BKZ-210-140 FZHSH st.#7 was put into operation in 1961, its accrued operating time is 233,047 hours. As a result of the long operation the operating life of metal durability of the non-heated pipelines and boiler surface has decreased considerably. The bigger part of them was not replaced, and some boiler parts have to be replaced again.

Because of the above mentioned reasons the initial steam parameters decreased from the nominal 140 kgs/cm², 560^оС tо 100 kgs/сm², 510^оС, which considerably aggravated the technical-economical indices of the boiler and the power station in general. Reconstruction of the boiler plant BKZ-210 st.#7 would allow to raise the initial parameters of the steam till the nominal. Boiler is designed for operation on the hard fuel. Utilization of the new technologies of fuel combustion would improve considerably the technical-economical and ecological characteristics of the boiler.

At the same time the boiler steam output will increase from 210 t/h to 320 t/h when operating on gas and till 290 t/h when operating on coal. The boiler furnace is gas –compact with hard slime removal. The boiler plant will be equipped with the modern computerized system for control over the technological processes (ASUTP), its commissioning will increase the boiler efficiency trough regimes optimization, decrease the emergency rate because of the personnel and increase the operating life of equipment.

As a result of reconstruction the Co-Generation Plant - 2 will have opportunity to increase the electrical capacity by 20 МW, the thermal capacity by 45 Gcal/h. Reconstruction of the next the same type boilers at the Co-Generation Plant - 2 is critical for further extension of the electrical station with installation of the cogeneration turbine of electrical capacity 80–100 МW and the thermal capacity 170 Gcal/h. This will allow to reduce the shortage of electricity in this region and provide heat to the community "Big Krylovka" that is under construction.

2004 – 2005 - disassembly of the boiler
2005- designing the reconstruction works,
2006 - 2007 - installation of equipment, ASUTP, start-up – adjustment, commissioning

In 2005 disassembly of the old boiler was finished, mounting of new boiler carcass began, design –budget documentation is being agreed upon.

In 2006 were completed: mounting of the boiler carcass, mounting of convective mine, sucking air ducts for cold air, recirculation smoke sucker air ducts, economizer of 2 stage.
